There are some weeks where we can all feel a bit down; however, I am going to share some ways that have helped me to get back into a productive state and out of my bed.

1. Making your bed

This may seem like a small step but making your bed can make your room seem tidier and can sometimes help with stopping you from diving beneath the covers. This simple but small task sets me up for the day and makes me feel like I have my life together, as if you can make your bed in the morning what can’t you do!

2. Spend 5 minutes tidying your room

Tidying your room can seem impossible, so spending 5-10 minutes everyday putting things back in place has helped me to stop feeling overwhelmed by mess. Doing this at the start and end of everyday stops clutter from pilling up and makes the task easier, as let’s face it we all despise this one! Tidying regularly also stops you from using it as a form of procrastination later on in the day, which can be a pro or con, I’ll let you decide which.

3. Pamper yourself

When you are the most stressed having a bubble bath and pampering yourself can be the most important thing for setting you up for tomorrow and banishing those negative thoughts. Not only will this help you feel relaxed and ready to bring on tomorrow but this can also stop your skin from breaking out, which let me tell you is one thing you don’t need when your freaking out. So head down to boots or your local drugstore and buy a mask, self-tan or a candle for an evening in, whatever makes you feel your best.

4. Make lists

This is key in sorting your life out, as well as being a tool of motivation for achieving your goals. Being able to tick off your aims is not only pleasing to the eye but gives you a burst of motivation; however, don’t go to overboard, as setting yourself too many tasks can be overwhelming and make you want to bury yourself under your freshly made bed.

5. Buy a planner

This one is similar to the last; however, it differs in the way it prepares you for an upcoming week. Mapping out meetings or lectures makes sure you don’t forget anything, as well as helping to ease stress, since you aware of approaching deadlines. As well as scheduling work related stuff, adding fun things into a planner like seeing friends or nights out, things that I enjoy gives me time off to rejuvenate and something to look forward to in the week.

6. Getting an early night

We all know that running on an empty tank can make the day drag and disrupt your concentration, so this is probably my top tip in sorting your life out and allowing you to wake up feeling refreshed the next day. This one is a lot easier said then done but having a shower before getting in bed or closing my laptop down an hour before I sleep, has really helped me to achieve this one and unwind before bed.
